“This is THE best database I’ve probably ever used. Having every record tied and centralized like this just chef’s kiss. Gloria has done an amazing job and I can definitely tell this was a labor of love.

The Ultimate Notion System For Simmers

Watch this video to see what’s inside 👇🏾

Do you open up the game and feel…

😳

Overwhelmed

Trying to keep track of challenges, rotating households and legacy lore in various Google Docs and Excel sheets

😐

Disconnected

Your legacy founder has gotten up to so much (including a risky love triangle) that you kinda lost the plot. None of your save files excite you anymore

🥱

Uninspired

You’re wondering what’s the point of jotting down your ideas if the stories just end up fizzling out and forgotten anyway

Let Me Guess…

  • You struggle to keep track of your Sims challenges to the point that you just end up giving up.
  • You spend time collecting screenshots of your Sims only to forget the context.
  • You want to play rotationally but keeping up with one household is already stressful enough.
  • You play The Sims to escape but end up feeling stressed out instead.
  • You get emotionally attached to your Sims and have trouble moving on.
  • You love the idea of keeping track of your Sims but don’t know where to start.
  • You’re constantly on the lookout for a new app to organize your story ideas.
  • You think Notion could be the one but you’re overwhelmed by the blank page.

You’re on the verge of abandoning yet another save file, but…

Imagine if you could start a session without feeling lost?

What if you had all your storyline ideas, legacy lore, challenge progress and character goals just a click away? And it was easy-peasy to add more?

You could actually keep up with keeping track, not feeling overwhelmed as your households grow and your stories get more complicated.

You could save time finding notes and continue your Sims’ life stories instead.

You could look back on all you’ve created and achieved… instead of scrolling through your screenshots folder trying to remember the plot.

Hi there, I’m Gloria, the OG Simmer and organization nerd behind Yellow Llama Co.

I help sentimental Simmers play with purpose by making it easy to manage their pixel people.

The Sims has had my heart since 2001 but sadly most of the stories I’ve played have faded from memory. It wasn’t until The Sims 3 that I finally began keeping track of my pixel people.

Nothing too fancy. Just a few screenshot folders and info dumps here and there at first but it was hard to keep up without any real organization.

And oh gosh, do I love organization. 😅

So I created templates to make it easier to document and organize what mattered most to me.

The compulsive maker in me couldn’t stop there though.

I wanted more. A system to connect it all.

So I tinkered away in my lab for over 9 months and built one…

Let Me Introduce You To The

SimGuardian

A living archive built in Notion to help you manage your pixel people and give your creations a forever home.

(even if you’re a Notion newbie 😊)

🗂️

Simply fill in ready-made templates and use dashboards to keep track of your pixel people.

Organized

🚀

Use systems to complete challenge goals, grow legacy families and play rotationally for more progress with less stress.

Ambitious

Save all of your creative ideas, resources and stories in one place so you can focus on playing instead of feeling stuck.

Inspired

“Everthing is easy to use and connects perfectly. I hesitated to buy it at first because I didn’t want to spend money on a tool but I watched all the sneak peaks and saw the opportunity it could give me to finally write the history of my Sims. I now have everything in one place in an app really easy to use.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! SimGuardian is designed to handle as many save files as you’d like. You can even keep track of multiple save files for different life sim games.

SimGuardian is compatible with The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 right out the box. While I can’t guarantee its compatiblity with games that aren’t out yet, its universal and flexible framework is designed to be future-proof for upcoming life sim games as well.

You can always tailor the system to suit the specific needs of any life sim game you play if the existing setup doesn’t fit perfectly.

TThe system includes pre-filled databases with metadata on DLC, worlds, and static attributes (like traits and causes of death) for The Sims 2, 3, and 4*.

When new packs release, you can easily update these databases, including adding custom worlds or attributes from mods. The added metadata is readily available through drop-down menus when filling in details for characters, properties, and more.

Achievements are tracked separately since they often include specific details (e.g., notes, rank, or level). Each character or business has a linked view to the Achievements database, where you can manually add accomplishments, such as skills, careers, life goals, celebrity status, or education.

I’ll keep the databases updated, and any fresh copy you make of the SimGuardian will include the latest changes.

* Up to the Life & Death expansion pack

The system includes pre-filled databases covering DLC, worlds, and static attributes (like traits and causes of death) for The Sims 2, 3, and 4. You can select this metadata from drop-down menus, such as when assigning traits to your Sim.

I’ll provide free updates as new Sims 4 content is released. However, since the SimGuardian is a Notion template, these updates won’t apply automatically to your own copy. You’ll need to manually add the new metadata to your master databases. Each game has its own dashboard with linked views to DLC, worlds, and attributes databases, allowing you to update or add custom metadata in one place.

Character details, like life state or gender, are available via select properties. New life states can easily be added as new select options in the Characters database.

Achievements are tracked separately since they often include specific details (e.g., notes, rank, or level). Each character or business has a linked view to the Achievements database, where you can manually add accomplishments, such as skills, careers, life goals, celebrity status, or education.

All you need is a Notion account (free or paid) and a device that can access Notion, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Once you purchase the SimGuardian, you’ll receive easy-to-follow instructions to copy the template into your own Notion workspace. From there, you can start customizing and using it to organize your gameplay and save your lore right away.

SimGuardian is built using Notion, which is a separate app and doesn’t connect directly to your game or its files. You add the details you want to keep track of in the SimGuardian, all at your own pace.

Yes! The quick start guide in the SimGuardian includes step-by-step instructions so you can migrate your characters and backstories from the Backstory Creator to the SimGuardian.

Sure! Since the SimGuardian is built in Notion, you can use it on any platform Notion is available. Notion can be used via a web browser or it’s desktop and mobile apps, so the SimGuardian can too!

For sure! The system comes with a step-by-step setup guide, video tutorials, and comprehensive documentation that walks you through using Notion and the SimGuardian system. Even if you’re completely new to Notion, you’ll find it easy to get started and make the most of the system.

If you want to try something new, I suggest starting with a simple, free Notion template to see if Notion suits you. If you enjoy using the app, the SimGuardian is a great option for a more comprehensive system designed specifically for Simmers without the hassle of building it from scratch.

Absolutely! The SimGuardian is far more than just a template — it’s a comprehensive system designed to help you preserve the unique stories you create in your life sim games. You pour a lot of time, love and creativity into your pixel people and their lore. They deserve to be saved in a meaningful way and cherished for years to come. The SimGuardian also makes it easy to consistently keep track while also supporting your creative progress.

With a one-time payment for lifetime access, a detailed companion guide, free updates, and the care and thoughtfulness put into every feature, it’s a valuable investment for any dedicated Simmer.

Technically, the game costs $1300+ depending on how many of those packs you get, and that’s just taking The Sims 4 into account. 😅 Updates to the SimGuardian are free and it can be used to track your The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 gameplay (and future life sim games).

I put a lot of time and knowledge to build this unique system (and it’s guide) which is designed to make playing more fun and be your companion for years to come. Therefore it’s price, but I think we Simmers deserve to treat ourselves every once in a while. 😉

However, I do offer purchase parity for all of my digital products to make them more accessible.

While there is a learning curve, Notion is a free app and accessible to those who want to invest some time in creating their own systems.

The biggest difference between all three is where you’ll use them:

  • The Digital Sim Life Planner (DSLP) is used on a tablet with a stylus and digital note-taking app, such as GoodNotes.
  • The Sim Chronicles for OneNote (SCfO) template is designed exclusively for OneNote and is cross-platform compatible, since the free OneNote app it is made for is available on PC, Mac, Android and iOS.
  • The SimGuardian is a Notion-based system and also cross-platform compatible. With the free Notion app you can use the Sim Guardian on PC, Mac, Android and iOS.

The Sim Chronicles has the upper hand if you want to work 100% locally (Notion doesn’t have an offline mode) or if you want to use custom fonts (Notion has only three fonts). It’s also great if you prefer the familiar Wiki-style setup.

The Digital Sim Life Planner (DSLP) is probably best for tracking a single family or character nd especially great for role-playing. You can embellish the pages in your DSLP with a mix of your own handwriting, doodles, digital stickers, photos and even custom fonts. Using the DSLP feels more like journaling in comparison to the SimGuardian. The DSLP is designed to be used with a note-taking app on a tablet, whereas the SimGuardian can be used on any device with the free Notion app.
